I just took a better look at the AGOT 11 that I bought for my daughter for Christmas. She came in the older style yellow box. She has an artist mark behind her ear and also a 7H9 under the Pleasant Company stamp on her head. The writing looks a little different than that of my newer dolls also. You guys seem to be the experts so any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

I think the yellow box was a Mattel box.

My AGT came in a plain white box, and I am unsure if she is Mattel or PreMattel. She was in the Red Vinyl outfit, which were the years of the switch.

For sure the AGTs that came with the 6 book sets (the first two outfits) were Pleasant Company.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it all told in the style of eyelashes? Feathered = PM, straight & stiff = post.
that's just my understanding. I could have totally gotten the worng idea......

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yup the PM today dolls have soft lashes too. They aren't as feathered as the PM historicals, but they are noticably differant and softer from the modern Mattel ones.

That's why I am confused about my today girl. She has softer lashes than my "I know they are mattel dolls" and harder lashes than my "I know they are Pleasant Co dolls"

She is in the Red Vinyl but that was when they were making the change, so I don't know if they had changed the production yet to the "Mattel Materials"

If she has no body tag and has softer lashes I'd say she's PM.

Eyelashes , body tags, and hard vinyl are what makes Mattel dolls, well Mattel dolls. If she doesn't have those things, it's fair to say she's PM. Even if she was bought from Mattel/AG she probably was old stock.

Well, my today girl has soft lashes, but an American Girl body tag. So... I don't know.
